Our names are Olin and Judy Brooks. This is our home on seven acres of land in a wonderful neighborhood where all the neighbors are more like family. As a matter of fact, that's what we say we are, JUST ONE BIG FAMILY. We've lived here since August of 1984.
My husband and I have always loved animals, especially dogs. People have told me, even when I was a child, that I had a gift. I never thought of it that way, I just knew that the animals were a gift to me, and I hope and pray they always will be.
I have also had some to say that I cared too much about animals. Well, I gave my everything to the Lord Jesus on October 7th 1997, and it bothered me that I just may care too much for them. So I prayed and ask the Lord to show me if it was wrong, but I also wanted Him to show me if it was okay. I opened my bible, and it opened to 2 Samuel, chapter twelve, verse 3. It said, But the poor man had nothing, but one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up; and it grew up together with him, and his children; and it ate of his meat, and drank of his cup, and lay in his bosom, and he loved it as his own daughter.
We give God all the glory for the animals He has put in our care here at Dog Heaven Acres. We also thank Him so much for the people He has chosen to send to our kennels, and for all the ones who have become such close and special friends.
